Q: Describe a Moon Circus recording or performance.
A: Decidedly authentic, engagingly original, deeply fun.
Q: What is the concept behind Moon Circus?
A: A circus is a collection of unique characters with a central ringleader and theme. Meshe created Moon Circus to engage beautiful and amazing musicians in creating what she calls, “Revolutionary Lullabies”.
Q: Revolutionary Lullabies? Describe that.
A: The music has a harmonically rich, melodically strong, tapestry-like quality that is both stimulating (lyrically, energetically) and soothing. I feel that the term “revolutionary lullabies” conveys these contrasting moods. What else would a Moon Circus dance to?
Q: What’s coming up for Moon Circus?
A: Our current constellation is all female, with upright bassist Jean Tejkel, percussionist Christine Allen, Anna Kemble on harmonies, Meshe leading with vocals/guitar/piano and on special occasions, Clara the Sidewalk Cellist. Mostly, we are performing these days, songs from the upcoming album, “Under the Covers” as well as from “The Moondrops” and “The Me Shell”. We have plans to tour and are open to house concerts, private events and anything that allows us to instigate toe-tapping!
